To all,
This evening I saw two warblers, I think. I confirmed a sighting of a
Red-eyed Vireo, there are two other birds that escape me. There was the
first one. It looke like a chickadee with streaks on its breast and flanks.
I did see what I believe to be faint wing-bars. To me this sounds like a
Blackpoll Warbler, but the looks I had were not good enough to confirm it,
but my gut says its a Blackpoll. I have heard to listen to your gut
instinct, but I want to be honest in my life list. Then after I lost sight
of the first bird I saw this other one. I do not think this was the same
bird, in fact it could not have been. This bird was also a warbler, it had a
short, and I mean short tail. I saw a yellow, or maybe it was olive, I am
not sure the sun was shining on it so it could have enhanced the colour,
crown and at the very end of my sighting I saw two brown-streaks starting at
about the throat. To me this resembles a Chestnut-sided Warbler. I never
could get a really good look at it, because the bird never stood still. It
was either behind some leaves keeping its face hidden from me or leaping
into some cover. Anyone know whether or not I should count them both as
lifers or keep those birds as a question? I would look for them tomorrow,
but I have school.
