The cold from last night brought in a ton of warblers in the yard. Just last
night I saw Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Black-and-White, Black-throated
Green and a few others that I could not ID. Just before dark I could see
that many warblers were migrating because the sky was filled with many small
bird heading south. In some case you can see the yellow and white bellies
that were neatly sunlit. After all this, a Tennessee Warbler showed up this
morning. Can't wait to see what happens tonight.
Last night's big surprise was a group of very confused Semi-palmated
Sandpipers. Initially they flew over but then they started to circle the
yard for a bit. This was weird because I have no mudflats and the open area
in the yard is surrounded by tree.
