I stopped briefly at Mason Neck State Park Headquarters with Laura McDonald
to see what waterfowl were present today.
We had Canvasbacks (about 20), Redheads (about 15), Gadwalls (30), American
Wigeon (6), two dozen Lesser Scaup, a lone drake Greater Scaup, and up to 40
Bufflehead with several hundred American Coots in Belmont Bay.
Approximately 250 Tundra Swans flew overhead probably headed for the Great
Marsh.
