Va Birders,
Today I headed down to the Roanoke area for the Western Tanager coming
to Bill and Katie James' feeders near Roanoke. We arrived a few
minutes before 3 pm and although we had to wait about 45 minutes, the
beautiful Western Tanager gave great looks over the course of 20
minutes. Thanks to the James for letting people in to see the bird!
Also present at their feeders were several different species of birds,
most notably a Fox Sparrow.
