Subject: [Va-bird] White-cheeked Pintail
Birders,
We birded Sunday evening and Monday morning at Chincoteague with the main
objective being the White-cheeked Pintail. Together about three hours were
spent looking for the bird with NO luck. On Saturday, about 14 birders were
trying to find it and on Monday only the two of us. On Monday morning the
waterfowl were located relatively close to the road and easy to observe.
We tallied seven Red-breasted Nuthatches without even trying.
The only rare bird that we saw was Ned Brinkley who was trying to relocate
the Bell's Vireo at Cape Charles in a very brisk wind!
Happy trails,
George & Rosemarie Harris
