VA Birders,
A hen Wild Turkey has been reported at Fort C. F. Smith Park, Arlington
Co., by several observers off and on for the last month or so. Usually, it is
seen up until about 9:00 am. It is seen most often between the parking lot and
the area behind the Hendry House. However, I saw it last Thursday, Aug. 4,
about 2:45 pm, wandering about the historic area (Civil War Earthworks) of the
park, just west of the walk-in entrance. In fact, I saw it from the road, just
inside the fence, as I was driving away from the park.
