[Va-bird] Window strikes

I use a small halogen lamp, sitting on a table by the window and aimed directly at the feeders. Last year, even with three busy feeders hanging from my porch roof, I had no deaths from strikes. The strikes I did see left the birds stunned, but they recovered and flew away in every case. I have occasionally seen them fly toward the window, but then they see the light and veer off.

I had not heard of the highlighter -- interesting idea! Whatever works.............

I forgot who posted the link to David Sibley's trick of putting highlighter on windows, but I really would like to thank you!
My feeders are opposite the storm door, and I have had a lot of Goldfinches hitting the door. 3 have died as a result (in 3 days). Apparently it's something to do with the light having shifted. I tried the highlighter on Sat. morning and haven't had a bird strike since. I put it on the inside, so it won't wash off and drew it in a grid pattern with squares being about 2".
Thank you so much!
