This morning at Licking Hole Creek near Crozet in western Albemarle I had a
good, close look at a Wood Thrush. Other species of interest at this location
were a Great Egret, several (3-4) Lesser Yellowlegs, a Blue-headed Vireo, at
least two Red-breasted Nuthatches and four small unidentified ducks (which,
based on earlier reports, were probably Blue-winged Teal).
(The thrush had pink legs, boldly spotted breast, distinct eye ring, an almost
orange nape in bright sunlight, and was NOT pumping its tail.)
