The first woodcocks that I know of in Highland County were heard on
Saturday, March 15 off of Rt. 640, just about 1 mile north of the junction
of this road with Rt. 250 (Hightown). I plan to try again this coming
weekend. Was also lucky enough to see on March 17th 7 White-tailed Ducks
on pond at Old Trail Golf Course in Crozet (Albemarle Co.) and also a
couple of tree swallows.
