Great close looks of YB Chat and probable Alder Flycatcher at Greenbriar Park
in Charlottesville.
Entering from Greenbriar Street go to far side of stream across bridge and turn
right about 500-1000 m in the shade. Heard chickadees and in area saw nice low
look of YB Chat with C. Yellowthroat. Surprised me due to lack of presence on
bar charts but always rhink outside of box and also more common rhe more to
south you go.
In same area several flycatchers phoebes least pewee tanagers and a flycatcher
with olive back grey front and wingbars. Not a YB due to lack of color on
breast and also similar to Willow. Have sewn many in PNW but time of year and
habitat are pretty different. Thank s to MR Beamer was able to figure this was
a probable Alder life look of this bird and veey happy. Looked like the photo
on ebird.
Happy birding,
