Stopped by Smith Landing & Fishing Pier this today to see who was fishing
while enjoying my morning coffee. A Yellow-crowned Night-Heron popped out
of the reeds and patiently waited for me to leave. Other early morning
arrivals were Great-blue Herons, Great Egrets, Osprey, Purple Martins,
Laughing Gulls, and Barn Swallows. Eastern Kingbirds, Mockingbirds and
Carolina
Wrens were busy working the parking area.
