This afternoon, I needed a little quiet time. So I went birding in the Clifton
Farms area of the county. I stopped where the road leaves Little River and was
searching for a Yellow-throated Warbler I had heard. I found the warbler and
was searching the treetops for another one. I saw something soaring overhead. I
thought "no white, must be a TV, whoa wait a minute thats not a TV". It was an
adult Golden Eagle. I took some photos before he soared on over the ridge. As I
started on the farm I saw something perched in a dead tree on top of the hill.
It was the Golden Eagle again. It was still long distance but I managed to get
a couple of shots before a Common Raven and an American Crow chased him off his
perch.
Later near Wardell I located a group of 15+ Cedar Waxwings and at least 3
Yellow-rumped Warblers that were almost in breeding plumage. Photos are at
