Hey everyone, This morning, a total of 15 folks (if I counted correctly) joined
the bird walk in the sanctuary this morning. The wind picked up a bit, but we
had good views of several birds. My FOY Veery was completely silent. It ate a
mulberry fruit and then sat very still. I was very thankful for the cooperative
birds -- especially the male Redstart, Black-throated Blue Warbler, and Summer
Tanager. Some of the folks were fairly new to birdwatching, so I really
appreciated viewable birds. Catbirds and robins were eating the mulberry and
serviceberry fruits. Bird list below. I wandered around the Ghent section of
Norfolk before the walk, heard several Blackpoll Warblers, and saw close views
of a gorgeous male Magnolia Warbler. Walks in Weyanoke are held on the third
Saturday of every month. Weyanoke Sanctuary, Norfolk, US-VA
