There were 14 kestrels sitting on a wire and several more flying
around near Calverton, Va. one morning last week. They were on the
wire between 2 poles that have nest boxes so I assume some of them
were "right at home". It's common to see 3 or 4 at a time there, but
14+ was quite a treat. This is on a farm that has 2 barn owl boxes
where over 50 barn owls have been banded over the last 10 or 12 years.
