About two weeks ago, I posted a comment about a leucistic bird I saw at
Bryan Park in Richmond. It had white patches around the face, was brown
(mostly), and had brown stripes on the head. The size seemed around the
size of a large sparrow and it had a very stout beak. After doing research
and looking at reports of what others have seen, my best guess is that it
was a leucistic female Rose-breasted Grosbeak. The coloring (except for the
large white cheeks) seems most consistent with that bird, as was the bill.
