Tonight there were at least 40 or more nighthawks well before sunset, foraging
beside I-66 behind the Fair Lakes shopping area. This was around 7 to 7:15
PM, just a bit southeast of the Hyatt. I counted 8 from the road as we
approached the area and 24 more at one time in flight behind the Hyatt.
Later at 8:00 PM there were zero. No idea why the concentration earlier, nor
why they dispersed shortly after sunset.
