It's also very interesting to see something in the bird world that I have
never witnessed before. I put out a bit more seed yesterday because we are
experiencing cold temps here in Highland County.
Currently, I have about 15 pine siskins eating dandelion seeds in my yard.
This is by far the latest I have ever seen this species here. It's also
quite amazing that they prefer the dandelion over my expensive peanut seed!
Highland County records show that this is later than the May 3 extreme date
of 1988
