In between rain storms this afternoon I was able to check some of the wet
spots around Ball's Neck (lower Northumberland County) for migrating shore
birds. In a small pond near Shiloh School I found 44 yellow legs (about
50/50 greater/lesser), 11 least sandpipers, three semi-palmated sandpipers
and two semi-palmated plovers. There were more yellowlegs in the fields near
the entrance to Dameron Marsh NAP, along with six glossy ibis.
