I have noticed several folks mentioning bald eagles. Back in September and
October there was a pair hanging out along the Dan River in Danville. I could
actually see them flying over the river through my office window. We also had a
pair of Osprey build a nest, which they later abandoned, on top of a high
voltage tower next to the river. The Osprey were regularly harassed by crows.
It was very upsetting to watch but there wasn't anything we could do.
It is still snowy here, though it is beginning to melt. We had the usual birds
here today.
goldfinches
carolina wrens
mourning doves
titmice
chickadees
white breasted nuthatch
cardinals
juncos
Saw a few crows earlier this morning and a turkey vulture.
