Went to Huntley Meadows dark and early, hoping for rails - no luck. Turkeys
were gobbling ~ 5:30 on both sides of the pond. Good close looks at Least
Sandpiper (3). Encountered a male Blue Grosbeak singing from one of the trees
in the hedgerow that parallels the beginning stretch of the boardwalk.
Went up to Monticello Pk, arriving at 9:00. Good looks at Veery and Hermit,
Wood, and Swainson's Thrushes; 8 species of warbler - all good looks down low,
including male Cape May and Bay-breasted.
