Beautiful morning for birding. A Gr. Egret flying up Neabsco Cr. on the way
into the park. The hillside below the Fairfax house ruins was very active
starting ~15' before dawn, but the bird were difficult to ID. An E. Screech Owl
was calling on the hillside towards the Civil War fort. Plenty of activity
along the road towards the Visitor Center, behind the Visitor Center, and in
the picnic area. N. Parula and Magnolia Warblers and A. Redstarts were
numerous. On the way out, numerous gulls were on the flats in Neabsco Cr., and
a N. Harrier was cruising over the vegetation.
