Woke too early this AM, so headed to Breckenridge Rd to listen for
Whip-poor-wills (1); also heard Ovenbird (2) and E. Towhee (2).
Arrived at Leesylvania SP ~ 6 AM. The Powell Creek trail head was noisy,
Baltimore Orioles (FOS) singing and chasing each other. The rest of the park
was less active than last weekend. Highlights here were two Common Loons
flying North, Bonaparte's Gulls (3) and three Pileated Woodpeckers. Just after
sunrise, there was a gull or tern well out in the river that appeared to be
completely gray (Black Tern???), but this could have been the lighting.
Went to Julie Metz ~ 10:30. The Indigo Buntings have arrived.
