Yesterday (Oct 5) on the campus of flint hill school I saw my first
white-throat, yellow-rumped warbler, and winter wren of the season. The
afternoon before, the NV Teen Bird Club banded several birds including a
rose-breasted grosbeak (very exciting, and painful, with beautiful yellow
underwings), two indigo buntings, and a field sparrow (first of season) and saw
a Nashville Warbler that escaped from our mist net.  ALso this week the first
ruby-crowned kinglet appeared on campus/Oak Marr on Monday, and savannah
sparrow, tennessee, magnolia, bt green, redstart, palm (western and yellow, as
many as 8), pine, black-and-white have been seen.
Going out now to look for more.
All the best

Fred
