Another feature in Facebook is a section called the wall.

The Wall is the center of your profile for adding new things, like photos,
videos, notes and other application content. The Publisher at the top of
your Wall allows you to update your status and share content through many
different kinds of Wall posts.

Note: Posts, comments, and other things your friends leave on your Wall are
controlled by a group of settings in the "Sharing on Facebook" section on
the Privacy Settings page. To adjust these settings individually, follow the
"Customize settings" link and scroll down to the "Things others share"
section.

Also, Posts you create. Status updates, photos, links and other things you
post are controlled by the "Posts by Me" setting in the "Sharing on
Facebook" section on the Privacy Settings

If you wish to leave a quick message for someone you can use this facility
to do so. Here are a couple of simple ways to leave messages on the wall.

(Basic Wall)

1. While logged into Facebook, look for one of your friends and click or
enter key on their profile name.

2. Locate within their profile details a link called "Wall" and press enter
or double click. This will open up the page which contains three edit
boxes;

*. Search edit box.

*. What are you thinking! edit box.

*. Message for the wall, edit box.

3. For jaws users, I would suggest using the keystroke, "letter E". this
keystroke will quickly jump you through each individual edit box on a web
page. Note, this is on any web page that contains edit boxes.

4. So pressing the letter for a jaws user should in theory land you in the
"wall message box". I say in theory because it might take a little practice
to get this right but it's easy so give it a try.

5. Once you are in the correct edit box for typing your wall message, go
ahead and type in whatever it is you want.

6. Once you have your message typed up, tab over to the "comment" button and
press enter. The message will now be sent.

(Wall to wall messages)

Note: Facebook only lets you write on your friends' Walls and your own
Wall....

Facebook only lets you write on your friends' Walls and your own Wall. You
can also write on the Wall of any Page you become a fan of.

The "Wall-to-Wall" link is only available for people who are permitted to
see the profiles of both individuals. This link allows you to see the
history of Wall posts between two people. While it cannot be removed, you
can restrict who can view this link on your profile by editing your Wall
privacy.

To do this, take the following steps:

1. After logging in, locate the link "Account". Now press enter or
double click to open.

2. Once in account, locate the "privacy setting" and press enter or
double click.

3. Select "Customize settings" in the "Sharing on Facebook" section.

4. Change the "Post by Me" and "Wall posts by friends" features to
more restrictive settings.

What is wall to wall?

Wall-to-Wall allows you to see the history of Wall posts between two
individuals. You are only permitted to see the Wall-to-Wall between two
people if privacy settings normally allow you to see both individuals'
Walls.

Also on the wall page you may come across an extra box particularly if you
are a sighted user who uses perhaps zoomtext or supernova more so than a
screen reader.

This box is called the Publisher. The Publisher allows you to generate your
own content on your profile, like updating your status or adding photos to
your account. The Publisher also allows you to write and share content like
photos and videos on your friends' Walls. From my short description you can
see why it would required either some sight or sighted help to gain any
usefulness out of this feature of the Facebook wall.

Should you ever wish to remove any stories or other content from the wall,
try the following;

To delete a post or story from your Wall, follow these steps:

*. For mouse users, Hover your mouse over the story or post in question.
Then Click the "Remove" button that appears. Select "Delete" in the dialogue
box.

*. For screen reader users, locate the story with your arrow keys then tab
over to the remove button and press enter or spacebar.

Note that once you have deleted the content you cannot restore it.
