The problem treated of below came up on another list. However, I thought it would be of sufficient interest (and could be anybody's problem someday). I can recommend David bailes' tutorials, a few of which he mentiones (and from the urls he cites), as a source of useful info.

Paul, wishing you and your wife have a fab time on your holiday. All of us on the list do.)

Hi Robin and others,
just to note that an alternative to using the edit box on the google web page is to use the search box in internet explorer (or firefox). You first need to set google as the default search provider, and then you can just press ctrl+e to move to the search box, type in your search terms and press enter. Full details for using the search box in ie8 can be found in the search box section of this guide to ie8:

This guide to google might also be relevant:

Note that in ie9, the address bar and the search box have been merged, but you can still search in the same way. However to check what search providers are available, and to change the default you have to open the manange add-ons dialog, which is on the tools menu.
best wishes,
David.

I have noticed on my home and on my work computers using JAWS 12 and one
PC on XP the other using Win 7 that when I go to do a google search and
turns forms mode on I can type in the information or the search criteria
and for some reason what I typed is not there. I can do this several
times turning forms mode on and off going to top of page then jumping
back to the edit field and still text seems not to be echoed or even
written into the field. I cannot arrow back to see what is typed and if
I turn JAWS Cursor on there is nothing to be found.

Any one experiencing this and what could be the issue here?
Robin East
