That’s how Noreen meets the problem, too! She is writing her email on the
iPhone and needs to press the backspace key at the very top left corner of the
body of the message to avoid generating the ~I character which Ecartis uses to
flag a header line that needs to be deleted up to the next carriage return.
If such a character appears in the body of your message, you will not find it
as it will be hidden. It also means that everything you type will be removed up
to the first carriage return that you put in.
So, our only conclusion in Noreen’s case, was to hit the backspace key at the
start of the message in the hope that the ~i will be removed. This seems to
solve the problem.
