Cearbhall here.
The "outlook files" folder in My Documents is the place where Outlook keeps
all your messages in a file called Outlook.pst. When you deleted the folder
you also removed the outlook.pst file.
Happily you should be OK! If you go to the desktop and look for "recycle
Bin" you should find the folder and its containing file in the list of files
that are contained in the bin. The purpose of the recycle bin is to give you
a second chance of keeping your files in case of accidental deletion just as
you have done.
Here's what to do:
1. Close Outlook back to the desktop.
2. Open the recycle bin and use the arrow keys to move through the files
that you find there. You should come across the "Outlook Files" folder.
3. Make sure that "Outlook Files" is selected 4. Press the application key
(second key from the right of the main part of the desktop keyboard").
5. Arrow down until you hear "restore" and press enter.
The folder named "Outlook Files" Should now be back in My Documents. If you
open the folder you should see "outlook.pst" in the folder. Now if you open
Outlook again you should see all your inbox and sentitems folders back in
place as before.
Let me know if you have any problem with this sequence of steps.

Hi folks,
It's susan bourke here and I'm using my husbands computer to send this email
to the list, Using n,v,d,a, with windows 8.1 and office 2010 pro.
When in my documents folder yesterday I accidently deleted a file called
outlook files, the funny thing is that this file was never in my documents
folder before it just appeared yesterday. Well since I deleted that file I
can no longer open outlook, when I hit enter on the icom on the desk top for
outlookit opens sayinging waiting for outlook inbox outlook, but now it's
saying waiting for outlook inbox outlook list item but nothing happens.
However if I tab it says info bar edit, search query edit, submit search,
mail folders inbox not selected this tab is the only tab with any thing in
it that when I arrow down has any hing there it says inbox not selected,
outbox not selected draught box not selected ect. The next tab say list item
but nothing is there when I arrow down.
Can anyone tell me what I have done and what can I do to get back outlook?
