No once you have installed if you have pdf file in My Documents then you should
be able to go to it and open from there. Then Adobie automatically opens the
document. I always have this window open which blocks me reading the document
until I have selected the reading mode which I use left to right. It is
generally set at this so I press Enter again. Then I can start reading. Wonder
if the Jaws tandom could be used in this situation where another Jaws user
would link up with you. Maybe Paul will comment on this.

Well unless I was reading in say Arabic for example then reading from left
to rightt I would want.
I didn't see any options when I installed Adobe Reader 11.
Do you need to do anything to so do?
Perhaps I may need to do another install.

Adobie Xi is accessable, generally people choose the option to read from
left to right. This option is in a drop-down box prior to reading. You can
arrow up and down this box but I do not use any of the other options which
are read top to bottom or read in raw stream. There is not a n audible
sound when the pdf file opens but I am aware that Windows sounds can be
associated with a programme opening so perhaps this can be done. I do have
it set to a given sound when I open a Word document. If you choose to read
continuous or page by page these changes will be made via the Edit menu.
Again via Edit and Preferences and Security other changes can be made to
make the document accessable.

To follow up on my experience of PDFs with jaws here is my query.
I wonder if it is possible to have a tutorial (or is there one available) on
opening PDFs please?
Firstly what is the best accessible Adobe reader to have?
Now when you try open a document PDF how do you know when it is open, thus
do you get a particular sound or verbal?
I received an LRC PDF recently and am reliably informed that it was fully
intact yet some of the pages weren't opened or not there with Adobe 11.
I was using Kesi virtual printer to try to open and read and wonder if I
need do that or is Adobe supposed to do that for us.
All clarification of all of this would be appreciated from Paul and from
whomever else definitively.
