Eleanor,

I believe you should be able to locate it with K1000 if it is in the My Documents folder. Can you find it there with Windows Explorer?

I think you missed my point Flor. I wanted to select a file that was not in a folder other than the My Documents one and I did not appear to be able to locate it.

One will tab (press the tab key) into the list of files in the My
Documents folder, as per Joan ann's instructions, and then arrow or move
to the file. A folder's being closed only prevents navigation into its
sub-folders. the RIGHT ARROW key is used to open a closed folder.

Eleanor,

if the pdf is a file in the My Documents folder then it doesn't matter
that the folder structure within My Documents is closed.

OK Joan Anne, when Tony lands on My Documents, it is clossed so Tony you
will need to right arrow and that will open the folders in My Documents
so then you can navagate to the folder with the document. However, my
question for Joan Anne is what if the document Tony wishes to read is
not in a folder but is a stand alone pdf but in My Documents, then how
would he navagate to that?

 Hi Tony

It would be easier if you opened the PDF document while in Kurzweil.

press control and O to open the file

Shift tab once to get to the list of folders and backspace twice to
get to the my documents folder.

Now tab and you will see a list of files in the my documents folder
and choose the one that you want to read and press enter.

 This should work for you.

 Joan Ann.

 Afternoon all,

How can I read aPDF document in My Documents using Kurzweil?

I open up Kurzweil and hit the start menu but Jaws takes over.

 Best,
