To my surprise I have succeeded in running a complete scan with malware. It
took 1 hour, 16 minutes and 21 minutes. I have A. V. G.on my computer.
Will the two work at the same time or will one of them have to be removed.

Hi All,
A short tutorial on using the excellent anti-malware software called
"Malwarebytes". It can be downloaded free for home use at the below link. I
am going to run through the steps of using Malwarebytes to perform a full
and thorough scan of your PC/Laptop for any malicious items that may be
hiding out on there.
First step is to download and install the software package using the
following link;

Notes: When you use the link above the software will be automatically
installed for you so it makes the process of putting it onto your computer
that much easier. Just remember that when the download begins you may be
asked by your windows system if you wish to "Run" the item. You will of
course tab over to "Run" and press the spacebar and for many of those using
Windows XP you may be asked a second time if you wish to "Run" this software
on your computer, again answering by tabbing over to "Run" and pressing
spacebar. One final thing about the download process, you will know when the
download has completed and the software has been installed if you press the
"Tab key" around the screen from time to time to see if there is a Close
button otherwise there will only be a cancel button available. If there is a
close button then press the spacebar on it to complete the download and
installation process. Now Malwarebytes has been installed on your computer.
[Running a complete scan]
1. On your desktop or from within the programs menu of your Windows OS, look
for the malwarebytes icon. Press the enter key on it to have it open up.
2. When Malwarebytes opens up it may prompt with a message that the
"Databases are too old" and ask you if you'd like to update them?.
3. Press the "Tab key" to the Yes or OK button" and press the spacebar to
have it automatically update the necessary databases. This will take a few
moments so be patient with it.
4. When Malwarebytes has completed its updating process it will return you
to its user screen This screen contains a number of actions of which the
most important for this tutorial is;
*. A short list of radio buttons which give us the option of running a,
"Full scan" or a "Quick scan".
Notes: Use your arrow keys to choose between the choices.
By default the "Quick Scan" button will be highlighted.
*. The "Scan button". This button will be the trigger to begin the scan of
your PC/Laptop.
5. Now the with the above in mind, use the tab key to move onto the "Radio
buttons" and press the down arrow once to highlight "Full scan".
6. Press the "Shift + tab key" combination to return focus to the scan
button and then press "Spacebar" to prepare for scanning.
7. A final scan button will pop up and its only when you press "Spacebar" on
this that the full scan will begin.
Notes: At this point your computer is now scanning for the presence of
malware and other nasties that may be resident on your machine. This process
will take some time so be prepared to leave it and not try to rush it
through.
[When the scan completes]
When the scan has completed, Malwarebytes will indicate this to you in its
own way. For you to know this you may have to be present when it completes
otherwise if you are a screen reader user you will have to determine this in
other ways such as "Route JAWS To PC" then go to the top of your screen and
use the "Number pad 2" key to move down through the Malwarebytes screens to
see what its saying. You can also use the tab key and from the available
commands you could also determine that its finished. Basically there will be
an OK button to press so use the spacebar on this.
Next look around using tab keys if you are a screen reader user for the
"open scan results" and press "Enter key" on it.
When the results screen opens up unfortunately it isn't an easy screen to
read so I just tab to the "Remove threats" button and press the spacebar to
have it remove whatever it has found.
