Hi All,

I have been doing some work on the new property tax site trying to find a
way that those of us visually impaired could use the web site to determine
our tax due should we decide to pay it and here are my instructions which I
hope will work for you out there.

1. Go to the following web page. It will land you in the property tax
calculator which is where we want to be;

http://www.revenue.ie/lpt_reckoner/index_en.html

2. When you have opened up the page, first press the "Plus key" on your
number pad in order to make sure that jaws isn't in forms mode and then on
your main keyboard press the letter "E" to jump into the edit box where you
type in your tax band. There are different tax bands and typing in the
correct tax band will ensure that you get a correct result. I have given you
the tax bands below;
Once you have looked over them continue onto my next instructions which
follow the list.

€0 - €100,000
€100,001 - €150,000
€150,001 - €200,000
€200,001 - €250,000
€250,001 - €300,000
€300,001 - €350,000
€350,001 - €400,000
€400,001 - €450,000
€450,001 - €500,000
€500,001 - €550,000
€550,001 - €600,000
€600,001 - €650,000
€650,001 - €700,000
€700,001 - €750,000
€750,001 - €800,000
€800,001 - €850,000
€850,001 - €900,000
€900,001 - €950,000
€950,001 - €1,000,000
Over €1million

3. In the "edit box" that precedes the list of tax bands on the web page you
can type in one of the listed bands using the exact way I have given as
follows;
For example if your property is worth between 250,001 and 300,00 then you
would type in the following "exactly",

€250,001 - €300,000

Remember to include the "euro symbol" using keys, "right alt + number row
4".

4. Providing you have typed in the tax band for your property correctly then
you will get a result and if you haven't typed it in correctly then you
will get an error message indicating that there is no such tax band
available. So assuming that we have now typed in the amount correctly and if
so then no error message will be present when you press the down arrow once
or twice we move onto the next and final part of finding out what we owe.
5. For whatever reason we cannot simply arrow down to the amount showing
that we owe so we have to be clever and use a slightly different means of
revealing the amount due, at this point press keys, "Control + Letter F" for
to activate the jaws find feature.
6. In the find what edit box carefully type in exactly what I have typed
below including the Kolin.

Due:

Due: above is the search criteria you need to type into the jaws find and
then press the enter key.
7. Now press the down arrow and you will find what amount you owe the
revenue on your home. All I can say is that this works for me each time I
tried it with different amounts and I had success every time. I hope it will
work for you.

Paul.
