Hi Vincent,

Perhaps my timing was not good, but it’s something I’ve been worndering about
for a long time. The iOS native Weather app temperature is constantly off, day
and night, all-year-round. RTE are better than they used to be at weather
forecasting! <Smile>. When I speak of them here, I’m mainly referring to the
detailed weather forecast as given in the Weather tab of the RTÉ News Now app.
I was principally talking about temperatures. Now I know it’s very warm at
night at the moment, but 18 degrees at 3 AM is extremely high and like a fairly
sunny daytime temperature. On some cold wintry nights iPhone Weather app gives
the temp as 8 degrees, when it’s +3 or +4 in actuality. (I don’t know what
scale they’re using, unless it’s something that excludes wind-chill or some
such factor. My friend, a motorist, says that his car’s thermometer is more
accurate than his phone – in his case that’s a Samsung Galaxy. That might have
changed in recent versions but I don’t know. I do know, however, that in
iOS8.3, the temperatures are still not accurate for us.

Hi,

I deon’t know if anyone knows the answer to this, or whether it is a problem in
other places than in Ireland. But, when I look at the night-time temperature
given in the native iOS Weather app, I know they’re off by about 4 or 5 degrees
- too high (16 degrees now tonight, in skibbereen. Nah!) They are always off by
a few degrees, and I can check that against the RTÉ forecast.
