Thanks Vincent. I have XP Prro and after a lot of trouble someone did tell me how to import from Outlook Express to Outlook on my Windows 7 but I did not import in to the WLM as I did not have a clue about how to do that. Actually I believe it was Paul J Traynor who told me so let me take the opportunity of thanking Paul here again. As Paul said your contribution this morning to the list was invaluable. ----- Original Message ----- From: vts@xxxxxxxxxx To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2010 12:35 PM Subject: [vip_students] Re: importing contacts into windows live mail hello elenor i have done it through vista but in the last part of the import there is a list you can arrow down through that allow you to import from different options. hope this helps you. regards Vincent From: Eleanor Burke Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2010 12:05 PM To: vip_students@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [vip_students] Re: importing contacts into windows live mail Vincent you do not say whether you are importing from Outlook or Outlook Express, I expect from Outlook. ----- Original Message ----- From: vts@xxxxxxxxxx To: vip_ students Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2010 11:05 AM Subject: [vip_students] importing contacts into windows live mail hello Paul and others after waisting loads of time trying to import contacts into windows live mail i finally got it. so here is how it is done for anyone else who wants it. first get your back up of your contacts and do a copy and paste from your back up folder into your windows 7 contacts folder. after that then do as follows. 1. press alt and g for the go menu 2. arrow down to contacts or control shift and c. 3. then do alt and f for file menu then arrow down to import 4. arrow down to address book for current windows user. press in here and the import will take place. just to let you know the contacts folder on the windows 7 machine does not work with windows live mail for some reason and this is how it has to be done. regards Vincent
