Here is a short tutorial for those who wish to enable Spoken Menus,I hope it
will be of some help. Just follow the steps below:

1. Download and install the latest version of iTunes onto
your computer. You can get this from the Apple website at www.apple.com.
Just go to the ITunes link and press enter key. From here, go to the ITunes
download link and press enter.

2. When you are asked if you'd like to run or save the software, choose
"run" with the spacebar.

3. Once you have finished installing ITunes, while on the desktop, connect
your iPod nano (4th generation) or iPod nano (5th generation) using the USB
cable that came with it and wait for ITunes to open up on your computer
monitor.

4.When ITunes opens up, a tree like structure will appear. The first item
in that structure will be "Music". This is the top of the tree and also will
later on act as a pointer to your library that ITunes is so noted for
having.

5. Now arrow down the tree till you come to a section entitled "Devices" and
Select iPod nano under this section.

6. In this section called devices which only appears whenever the IPod is
physically attached to the computer, we have "tab pages". Each of these tab
pages has a group of settings that require you to take some action on them,
depending onw what you want to achieve.

7. We will tab along using the tab key to the Summary page. Each of these
pages has checkboxes, combo list boxes and radio buttons. Use spacebar and
arrow keys to change the state of any of these items.

8. Once we get to the summary page we will look for the checkbox that when
checked will begin the process of copying speech clips to our IPod and so
give us the speech we require in order to use the device. So tab along
through all the other settings and then select the checkbox to Enable spoken
menus for accessibility.

9.Once we have completed marking off our settings we can tab down to the
Apply button in the lower right corner of iTunes and press the spacebar.

Notes: iTunes will begin to sync audio clips of the iPod nano menus as well
as song information.

During this process have patience. I discovered that it took aproxomately 20
minutes for this to finish on my system here. If you disconnect the IPod at
the wrong time then all will be ruined.
