John,

Are you referring to the stock iOS weather app? You can 'edit cities' there, so you'll get the weather for your own place (as well as others if you wish). There are other weather apps, too, several of them. Some of them are mainly maps, so visual, not accessible to VO. There is one paid and accessible one I've hard good reviews of, called Dark Sky' which also works in Ireland.

Hi Joe,

You have to let the app know where you are. This means giving the app
permission to access geolocation services. Which tends to eat into
your data allowance and drain the battery.

Are you on a good monthly plan that includes data and do you leave the
house every morning with the phone charged to 100%?
