Eleanor,

The OCR that comes with more recent versions of JAWS can only scan images presented on the windows screen. For larger files, it is meant as a previewer, as it can do only one screenful at a time.

I think you mean scanning software as there is not a specific scanner. Any scanner will do the job but you might like to think of abbeyfinereader, K1000 which is much more expensive, OmniPage and so on. I think if you are usjing JAWS there is some OCR software incorporated in to it but do not know if that works from a scanner. ----- Original Message -----
