OK Christina, I have a Braille Blazer myself and love it. Are you using it with the seriel port? There is a list of embossers and that one is listed so it can be set. However, if DBT is not installed, it will require the seriel number to install. Provided you can give George all the details he will probably be able to check back on the records for you. George can be contacted at george@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thanks a million Eleanor.

I don't have the licence number, as it was an licence which was
purchased for me through the dept. of education, and I never installed
it myself.

I'll have a look at the embosser and figure out what the number of that is.

Thanks a lot for that contact in the UK, I'll give him a shout and
see. I know the embosser is called a 'Braille Blazer', and that I got
it in 2001, but apart from that I have no idea off the top of my head.
I'm using Windows XP.
Best,

Christina

If you know the name of your embossor that would help. If you have had a
licenced version of Duxbury in the past and it is a case of having forgotten

your code, I would recommend you to get in touch with George Bell who is the

Duxbury Rep in the UK. I am sure he will be able to assist. I would also
need to know what version of Windows you are running.

Hi all, hope you're having a good Monday!

Mike's question this morning about Duxbury has reminded me of
something I've been meaning to askf or a while but totally forgot
about.

I have a very old Braille embosser (around ten year old), which uses
Duxbury 4.0. The embosser was givent o me at school, but we swapped
it for one we had at home, because the 'school' one was smaller and
lighter, whereas the one we had originallya t home was made for more
heavy-duty work.

The embosser used to work fine, but it doesn't work at all anymore...
I thin I simply need to reinstall the software - but I don't have a
copy of it anymore. Is there a way to get older versions of software
like Duxbury? Can you still purchase the very old ersions of software
like that?
Any help appreciated! It seems so stupid that it should just be left
to sit there, entirely my own fault!
All the best,

Christina
