Hi Edel,

I think that something is running with some very bad programming code.
Something like a virus, spyware or even badly installed software such as the
way you mentioned that your office is running at the moment.
Firstly I would uninstall office completely if you have the disks to
reinstall it again of course. Now I would check for any available updates
from the Microsoft update site and also run a full avast scan followed by a
complete scan for spyware using something like Super anti spyware. Make
sure both these programs have also been updated first. Once you have all the
above done, try running IE and see how it behaves now. Note things like;
*. Is it just happening on a particular page?
*. Have you updated your IE to version 8?
*. Is your laptop using windows Vista or windows 7?, if it is using 7 then
it will most likely have IE8 already installed.
*.Reinstall office and then check on the web for the recommended service
packs for office, make sure you take down the correct SP's for the version
of office you are using.
*. Try running IE without any add-ons. You can find a link for this kind of
IE startup located in the "accessories menu" of your windows. Just click on
it and it will launch.

See how you get on with the above.

Paul.

Subject: [vip_students] outlook 7 and other queeries

Hi all

On my new laptop I tried to open outlook tonight and got a blank screen. My
only option was to press escape and I got a message to say that it was not
completely configured. Waiting made no difference

Also when I went on to the internet, I got a message box saying not enough
memory after line 26, that has me baffled as I've used the internet plenty
of times with no difficulty.

I have avast set up and running.

Also I want to know how to switch of the mouse keypad on the laptop as I
keep hitting it and selecting and changing things unknown to myself. I
tried control panel but it didn't let me do it.

Any advice welcome
With Thanks
Edel..
