Hi Susan,

It sounds like it could be your pop up blocker thats stopping you from
opening up a new web page. You could try hitting Control and Enter on the
links that are giving you the strange beeps.

hi paul,

funny you saying about spyware, this started the same night I did my
weekly
cleaning up of the computer, spybot and super anti spyware.

when I hit enter on the links it just gives this double blub and
doesn't
open up in to the next page for me, it's just certain links not them
all.
