Hi Susan,
I'm having the same difficulty here. The only thing I can get is that when I
press the application key on the cube shortcut and choose to "Run as
administrator" I can verify the aapplication on Twitter but after that has
completed any time I try to gain access to it it opens then collapses close
again. I also tried allowing it through the firewall but still even with
that done I had no joy.
I should add that I am using windows 8 here, haven't tried it on windows 7
yet.

Never had that problem... but maybe this extract from The Qube Readme
might help:

logging into twitter
The first time you open a twitter session, your web browser will open
and load a twitter web page which will askyou to enter your twitter
username and password to authorize The Qube. After logging in, twitter
will provide you with a number. Return to The Qube, enter this number
and you will be ready to get started. The following sections will
tell you everything you need to know about using Twitter.
Note: there have been a few reports of trouble connecting to twitter
when certain firewalls are in use. The most common problems are with
the Vipre firewall. If you are unable to connect, you may need to add
an exception to the firewall. In the case of Vipre, you want to add
twitter.com as a web exception. Generally, you either need to create
an exception for twitter.com or for The Qube itself.

When you click on The Qube icon and hear the bong, try pressing
Alt+Tab a few times to check if a browser window has opened a Twitter
web page requesting your username and password.
