All I know is that if I make calls in the wrong order or simply exit the 
app at the wrong time, the WDM sound card in my (new XP Toshiba) 
bluescreens. I don't think it's ever met up with anything other than 
KMixer, and it's scared and confused. :)

If I do everything in the usual order it's fine, but I suspect running a 
"badly written KS app" test would be a good idea.
