Hi everyone,
I have an audio filter driver that can be installed over any existing
audio driver. Is it possible to get this filter driver signed through
the WHQL process by itself, or can it only be signed as part of a
complete driver installation package?
The only thing you can send through WHQL are drivers for a specific
device. You could get your filter signed as part of a driver stack for
a specific device, but for a "generic" filter, there's nothing to sign.
You don't have an INF file or a CAT file, so there no place to put a
signature. And in order for someone to use your filter, they have to
modify their own INF file, which invalidates their signature.
