Many years ago, I used this sample AC97 driver in VirtualBox, it
worked in general. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the versions
(VirtualBox, DDK/WDK, guest Windows) and even the bitness (32/64).
Over the past year I have been observing the same sticky bugs in
VirtualBox that are still not fixed (for example, DNS resolving
problems on NAT connections), so it's quite possible that they've
broken something in AC97 support long ago, and nobody noticed it
earlier. :)
