[wdmaudiodev] Re: Vista: multichannel playback

Which name are you referring to?  In my case, the name seen in the Volume 
Mixer, or the list of audio devices is "Speakers (Friendly_name_in_here)".  I'm 
guessing this can be overridden by entering a custom GUID in the Name field in 
the KSPIN_DESCRIPTOR struct within the PCPIN_DESCRIPTOR struct.  Just a guess.
