It is correct that devices that are submitted through the unclassified submission cannot use WLP artwork. But my understanding is that the unclassified program is only for devices that do not fall under any of the more specific categories. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/gg462990 "If you do not see a category for your device, you can still get your driver signed through the Unclassified category. Devices and drivers that are submitted through the Unclassified category are not eligible to use any of the Windows Logo Program logo artwork. For more information about the logo requirements for each category, see the Requirements and Policies." I am a little doubtful because I see some postings on this list where people have written their driver using wavecyclic and they are running DTM tests for WHQL testing. You have made the very common mistake of thinking that "WHQL == logo". That's not true. The logo program is a superset of the WHQL signature process. You can certainly run your WaveCyclic driver through DTM and submit it for a WHQL signature in the unclassified category. You just can't get the legal right to use the Windows logo on your packaging. -- Tim Roberts, timr@xxxxxxxxx<mailto:timr@xxxxxxxxx> Providenza & Boekelheide, Inc.
