Guess who didn’t check out the presets. I like doing things the hard way.

Hi Marius,
When using the graphic equaliser, an alternative to changing the individual
frequencies is to use one of the presets. To do this, tab to the manage button
and press it. On the menu which opens, open the factory presets sub menu, and
choose telephone.

Hi Marius
Another option for getting the telephone effect is Graphic Equaliser under
Audacity’s effects menu. I suggest starting by pulling down all frequencies
below 200 or so to minus 20 and doing the same with frequencies above – say –
3000. Adjust values until you get the sound you want.
When applying reverb in Audacity I like to duplicate the track and apply the
reverb to one of them. That lets you adjust levels of both until you get the
amount of reverb you want.
For recording the band, it is most unlikely that you can use Audacity to record
onto more than two channels at once. To do that you need a quite sophisticated
sound card at very least. You can use the mixer to spread the band across the
two channels, but usually will not be able to put each instrument to its own
channel.
The Audacity manual has a detailed section on this topic.

Thank you Ted. I want to make sure where can I change the bit rate?
Another question: if I have a band, for example bass guitar, guitar and
keyboard. I plug in all three instruments to the mixer. The band play
together, but I want to record each instrument on his own track. As far I know
you need a specific soundcard, but how did record it? To press ® will not work.

To achieve the telephone effect, you can lower the sample bit rate.
To get the second effect, you use Reverb. There are presets in Audacity. Use
the large room or cathedral option.

Subject: [audacity4blind] EFFECTS
Good day
I am new on this mailing list and did not new if my question was already
discussed.
I have a vocal recording, but want to put it threw a filter so that it sound
that the person is talking threw a telephone to you.
My second question is basically on the same. I have a vocal recording and want
to put some echoes on the recording so that it sound that person is standing in
a big hall or auditorium.
What can I do to get this type of effects?
