  Hello. I am starting to do multitracking as well and finding the same 
problem. As far as i am concerned, it's better not to have output trough 
checked. To be honest i don't think if it's possible to correct latency in that 
particular setting. The best choice may be either listening to the keeboard 
through external speakers or headphones, or, if possible, throug the monitor of 
a mixer.

    Hello all,
    A very stupid question I guess, but I am totally new to audacity and I will 
try to ask not too much as a beginner, but this is for me quite essential.
    When I start audacity and I choose a track I should like to hear my 
keyboard before recording.
    Is hardware output through the only way to do this.
    With softrhough option you get latency which I don't want to have.
