The shortcut has changed to x, I believe. It should be spoken when you
navigate to the option in the transport menu.
I always listen, press left bracket and then space to stop playback,
don't know why.

I have found the option I want and thus I am typing here the response.
In the transport menu there is an option play / stop and set cursor. In
a guide I was reading it was stated that shift + a would be the
keystroke for that option but at least on my setup it is not, it had
nothing assigned.
This option will pause and put the cursor at the play back position.

recording head is somehwere else on the file so I guess my question is
how can I operate right where I paused the recording when pasting audio.
