Thank you so much for your response. I have a few more questions. You mentioned using the left and right brackets to highlight portions of the sound track. Do I need to be in a particular mode to do that? I have tried, but it doesn't seem to be working. Is there someway to tell if a portion has been highlighted? Also, will this add on allow me to repair and replace damaged audio on the video?

If you download "FFmpeg for Audacity" from the above page, you will need to use Audacity 1.3.13 (the current Beta). How do I highlight the portion of the audio to use as my sample of what I want to delete? In the usual way, for example by pressing [ and ] when you hear some audio that is only noise. The ] key will draw a selection between the points in the audio where you pressed [ and ]. Instructions for Noise Removal are here: http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/Noise_Removal Gale----- Original Message ----- From: Tony OliveroTo: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, November 14, 2011 9:59 PM Subject: [audacity4blind] Re: audio from video From: Greg [mailto:sonnygdp@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, November 14, 2011 21:40 To: audacity4blind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [audacity4blind] audio from video Is it possible to extract audio from a video file with audacity beta using Windows Vista? Is there an audio extractor that works with Jaws? I have home videos with terrible static that I would like to clean.
