@David
Youtube normalizes to about -14 LUFS but the peak can still be at 0 dB
(after decompression, -1 dB is recommended before lossy compression).
The topic is too huge to cover here. Read and listen about modern
mastering at Ian Shepard's blog/YouTube.
I think it is called production advice or something.
Best
Robert

Hey David,

No, the MRS-8 has no USB or wireless connectivity.

I’m not sure what it was replaced with but I also have a Zoom multi effects
guitar pedal & an acoustic guitar pedal & I find that their products compare
favourably to the more common brands such as Boss.

Interesting… I can’t find any information on the Zoom MRS-8. I’m in the US.
I wonder if it is the same thing as the Zoom f8 that they offer here? Does
your device have the ability to connect wirelessly? Is there a smart-phone
app for it?

Anyhow, glad to hear you are enjoying Audacity… me too (most the time
*smile*).

Usually I find my struggles with Audacity to be because I’m not yet familiar
with a specific function or feature. This list has been super valuable over
the years to help with that.

Keep asking questions, please. I enjoy learning from other people. I’m sure
other people enjoy learning too.

Peace,

David

Hi David,

It’s the Zoom MRS-8.

It doesn’t connect to the pc at all, no USB connection.

It has an SD card.

It’s a standalone.

I love using it as it has all the studio effects I need

I just can’t see the display anymore.

I use to place it under my CCTV & I could read it that way.

Now Audacity is the love of my life.

Cool, what model number?

Does the multi-track driver introduce a new interface host to Audacity so
you can record more than one stereo track at a time?

Bestest,

David

It’s a Zoom multitrack recorder.

It has become tooo difficult to utilize all the features.

Curious; What 8 track are you using?

I’m always interested in discovering audio gear.

Thanks!

Yeah,

It’s pretty cool we have people like Gary & all the others who have been
involved in the Audacity for the blind project.

Until I started using Audacity & found the freelist site I really struggled
to do recording on my 8 track.

Great job to all.

Gratefully yours,

Adrian

PS: yes, a bit soppy but I do mean it.

Excellent! It might be worth following Gary’s GitHub site to see when there
are new releases available. Sometimes changes happen super quick and other
times it can take ages. Gary is a busy young man on top of his excellent
scripting work he does to make Audacity more usable with JAWS.

He certainly jumped on this floating control ID issue right away. Thank
goodness!

Peace,

David

Hi David,

Thanks mate, mine was 2.2.2 beta but yours is newer.

Works perfectly.

Much appreciated.
